We spent a good hour and a half here checking out the impressive collection of aircraft inside the fan cooled hangar. It was smoking hot the day we visited so we passed on the planes outside in the sun. The writeups were interesting and informative. It is an excellent collection. The highlight has to be the B-52. What a monster aircraft!
If you enjoy planes you'll get a kick out of this place. Well worth the $16/adult entrance fee. Bring some water if the day is hot or you can buy it at the front desk.
Being honest, it wasn't my cup of tea 😀 but my husband and brother loved it. Spent a lot of time looking at all the amazing planes and aircraft. Even had a full B52 bomber which was amazing. More planes outside too. A small viewing platform to take a pic of the B52.
Good variety in the gift shop with some reasonable priced souvenirs.
Staff very helpful.
It's a large display with restored planes and also wreckage from various planes from the war. The B52 certainly looms over the other exhibits. It's massive to see in person. There are also lots of displays about our early aviation and aviators and also about Cyclone Tracy. All the displays tell good in-depth stories of their history.
We have a small dog 🐕, and upon asking, I was allowed to take her in on the condition that I carry her as they have no insurance to cover dog incidents. I was very grateful that I could take her in and didn't mind carrying her, so that was OK.
The staff was very friendly.
At $16/adult this was well worth the cost. The displays are informative and well done. The staff we welcoming and friendly, letting people know what to look for. Everything was well laid out and easy to access. Enjoyable to spend a couple of hours wandering around.
Excellent museum with good Australian history, including Japanese and a couple of the USA as well. If you are in Darwin and interested in your aviation history, this is a great museum to visit
What a great museum full of WW2 artefacts and recent notable aircraft. Definitely worth a visit if you're an aviation tragic!
Really fun medium sized museum with excellent static displays and some great videos for ww2 and info on womans aviation in the area and beyond. One of the guys at the ticket desk/shop could do with a little training on how to be more pleasant to paying customers but on the whole, a great place to visit.
Great exhibit of a diverse range of aircraft. Could be a little more interactive, but we’ll worth a visit. Loved the fighter jets
